For those new to the conflict, the violence in Syria has been raging for years, but has increased in popularity as of late, and it has found itself to be at the center of the Obama Administration’s current primary concern. The President has been pushing for the US to intervene in the Syrian conflict, regardless of the majority of Americans and Syrians disagreeing with the US involving itself.
Funded by the US taxpayer, the Syrian rebels have gained worldwide attention for continuation of their atrocious acts against the Syrian people. To mention a few, the Syrian rebel who cut out a soldiers heart and proceeded to eat it. They also dismembered a young girl with a frame saw while she was still alive, among other heart-wrenching stories. These are the individuals being supported by the Obama administration, these are the rebels whose US taxpayer dollars are going to fund. You would assume that the rebels would focus their energies against Assad and his regime, or giving control to local inhabitants, but instead they are also focusing on exploiting random (mostly Christian) villages and attacking innocent children and families. Recently twelve villages were subjected to their attacks, people were mutilated and beheaded, hundreds were taken hostage and over 400 lost their lives. There is prevalent danger all over the nation of kidnapping, rape, torture, and robbery.
Reports are now surfacing, from the Assyrian International News Agency (AINA), that more than 1,000 death-row inmates were sent from Saudi Arabia to fight against the Syrian government. In a top secret memo from the Ministry of Interior, AINA says the Saudi offered 1,239 inmates a pardon and a monthly stipend for their families (who are allowed to stay). According to an English translation, the prisoners all faced execution by sword for murder, rape, or drug smuggling.
Most notably, the Syrian “rebels” are specifically targeting religious sites in the nation. They have been burning and looting the sites, and beheading individuals of Christian religious faith. Thousands in the Christian community have already fled the nation with the increasing violence in the area. It is believed that the uprising was originally made up of Syrians who opposed the regime, but now it seems likely that it has been taken over by extremist terrorist groups or militias are the ones intimidating the Christian community.
And these “rebels”, who have pledged their allegiance to Al Qaeda, are the ones receiving funding from the U.S. Administration, who simultaneously claims that Al Qaeda is the supposed enemy. Russia has recently proposed that Syria hand over their chemical weapons, which they agreed to, and to let them avoid any immediate attack from the U.S. Meanwhile, the U.S. Supreme Court upheld a ban on any material support to foreign terrorist groups.
Alas, those in the highest posts of power are not held to the same standards as the rest of us. They expect the fact that they are supporting people, who ideologically subscribe to a philosophy they oppose, to get lost down the memory hole. It is our job as citizens to bring these facts to light, to care enough to make this information as well known as the rumor that Assad’s government may have used chemical weapons.
